Introduction

Picture
Baldwins Gate CE (VC) Primary School was opened in l969 when the Church Schools at Butterton, Chapel Chorlton and Whitmore were amalgamated.  The school caters for children between the ages of three and eleven and is set in attractive grounds, which include two hard playing areas, an Early Years area and an extensive playing field.  Part of the playing field has been converted into a ‘Learning and Growing Garden’.  The School is on one storey and has disabled access at main entrances/exits.

The School emphasises its Church of England foundation and maintains the traditional values and practices of a village school, while employing the best modern educational practice and development in accordance with the statutory requirements of the National Curriculum.  The teaching is a mixture of individual tuition, group teaching and class work so that the children may progress at a speed which suits their needs.
